13 Beauty Tips and Tricks...

Monday, October 22, 2012

Happy Halloween! Today I thought I'd do a post of beauty tips and tricks; you might already know some of them, but hopefully you'll find out about something new that might help you out!...

Complexion: If your complexion is looking a bit blotchy, ditch that beloved morning coffee and have a green tea instead. It contains anti-inflammatory properties that will help reduce the redness.
Spots: Although it's (very) tempting to attack spots with lots of treatments, just stick to one. Too many products will only anger it!
Perfume: When putting perfume on your wrists, don't rub them together, as it breaks the perfume's molecular structure. Or to put it simply, the scent won't last as long.
Conditioning: Don't use conditioner all over your hair, use the product only from your ears to the tips. Putting conditioner on the top of your head will only cause you hair to get greasy quicker and will weigh it down!
Concealer: Always use your ring finger to apply moisturizer or concealer to your eye area. It puts the least amount of pressure on that delicate skin.
Winter Repair: If your hair is a bit worse for wear from the cold weather, warm 1/2 a cup of olive oil in the microwave for 20 seconds and apply to damp hair from your ears to the ends. Twist your hair up and pop a shower cap on for about 20-30 minutes while the oil treats your hair, then shampoo it out! - Simples.
Lipstick: To make lipstick last longer, let it set for a few minutes after applying, then blot your lips with tissue and dust them with powder, then apply another coat.
Face Masks: Apply your face mask in the shower, the steam will open up your pores and allow the ingredients to work their magic better.
Preventing Breakouts: Always keep some hand sanitizer with you. We often touch our face subconsciously, and dirty hands means a dirty face - Which leads to breakouts!
Shaving: Apply a cheap hair conditioner to your legs before you shave. It acts like a shaving cream and softens the hair so it’s easier to shave off and makes legs feel all silky!
Natural exfoliator: Slice a few grapes in half and rub the cut sides over clean skin. The fruit acids are natural exfoliants. - I'm all for going organic!
Hair care: Get yourself a satin or silk pillow case. It will prevent snags and breakage when you're tossing and turning at night! (It will also make you feel fancy, which is a bonus...)
Beach waves: Dissolve 1 tablespoon of sea salt in 200ml of warm water and spritz it on damp hair to create lovely beachy waves.

There we go, I hope there was at least one in that list you haven't read before! Let me know if you have any other little secrets, I like trying out new things! Have a lovely Halloween.
