DIY - Homemade Lip Balm
Wednesday, October 24, 2012
Hi everyone! As well as beauty and fashion, I also have a huge love for making things. I've recently been using a lot of natural products, so I thought I would carry on with that theme and make my own lip balm from natural ingredients. I hope the instructions are easy enough to follow, let me know if you try it out!
"Here's one I made earlier..." |
You will need:
15g White Beeswax beads
30g Shea Butter
15g Cocoa Butter
40g Sweet almond oil
A teaspoon of Flavour Oil (Optional)
15g Cocoa Butter
40g Sweet almond oil
A teaspoon of Flavour Oil (Optional)
(Makes enough lip balm to fill about 6 15ml jars, you can always increase or decrease the amounts!)
Directions:
1. Cut the Shea butter into small pieces and place in a microwavable jug together with the beeswax. Microwave the ingredients until melted.
2. Add the almond oil and stir gently until blended.
3. Add the flavour oil and stir well.
4. Pour the mixture into some pots of your choice.
5. Allow to cool completely before putting the lids on.
There you have it! If you're not so keen on buying ingredients, a cheaper alternative is to melt together some Vaseline with an old lipstick to make your own coloured lip balm! Good luck!
