Double Chocolate Brownies (recipe) ♡
Friday, February 15, 2013
A few months ago my lovely friend Megan came round for dinner and bought some amazing homemade brownies with her. Ever since then I've been pestering her for the recipe and she finally remembered to give it to me the other day.
Considering how good these brownies are, how could I not share the recipe with you?...
♥ 3½ oz Unsalted butter ♥ 2¾ oz Muscovado sugar ♥ 6 oz Caster sugar ♥ 4½ oz Dark Chocolate ♥ 3½ oz All purpose flour ♥ 1 tbsp Golden Syrup ♥ 2 Eggs ♥ 1 tsp Vanilla extract ♥ 2 tbsp Coco powder ♥ ½ tsp Baking powder ♥
♥ Line or grease a 20cm/8inch square baking tin
♥ Place the butter, sugar, dark chocolate and syrup in a saucepan on medium heat until the mixture is well blended and smooth. Remove from heat and leave to cool.
♥ In a separate bowl, mix together the egg and vanilla extract. Then whisk in the cooled chocolate mixture.
♥ Sieve together the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder, and fold carefully into the egg and chocolate mixture using a metal spoon or spatula.
♥ Spoon the mixture into your tin, and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / 350°F for 25 minutes or until the top is crisp and the edge of the brownie is beginning to shrink away from the tin.
♥ Spoon the mixture into your tin, and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / 350°F for 25 minutes or until the top is crisp and the edge of the brownie is beginning to shrink away from the tin.
♥ Leave the brownie to cool completely in the tin then cut it into squares to serve.
These are definitely my favourite brownies that I've tried so far, and I'm slightly over excited that I finally have the recipe! I won't object to Megan bringing them round again though, there's something even better about having them made for you... Not having all of the washing up to do that is.
Let me know if you're going to give these a go, and don't forget to report back and tell me what you thought!
♥
