Three different nail looks! - Taupe, Pink and Matte Black

Tuesday, February 19, 2013

Afternoon! I've had a bit of spare time on my hands today, and as I'm visiting some family friends tomorrow I thought it would be a good time to play around with my nails. I'm really enjoying using a block colour on all but two of my nails and changing it up a bit on my ring finger. I'd love to be rocking geometric nails (which seem to be very popular at London Fashion Week) but I don't have the skills or the patience to do them myself!

01. I'm not quite one for nude polishes as my skin tone is a bit too dark, so a taupe or brown colour is always a nice option for me. I used Essie 'Miss Fancy Pants' as my block colour, and an insanely glittery polish by Barry M (Amethyst glitter) that would be a bit much to wear on all of my fingers!

02. This is a bit of an unusual girly option for me, it's actually the only pink polish I own! I'm not sure of the brand as it was a gift and there's no name on the bottle, but 'I Think In Pink' by OPI is very similar to it. I then have Rimmel's 'Star Studded' on my ring finger which literally looks like snow in a bottle! It does belong to my Mum though and is many years old, so I'm not sure if they still stock it!

03. For the last (slightly messy) look, I used a matte black polish by Avon in 'Black As Night' and a black nail polish by Rimmel for my ring finger. When it's a bit neatened up I think this is my favourite out of the three. I'm definitely a sucker for matte nails, and you probably know by now that I have a thing for painting my nails black! It's a really simple look and is also pretty versatile; You could create some pretty cool looking designs using clear nail polish and a dotting tool over the matte black if you're a bit more patient than me.

What's your favourite of the three? Do you like painting your nails?
