Rituals 24H Hydrating Gel Cream

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Afternoon! If you've been reading my blog for a while, you may know that I've recently been updating my skincare routine and trying to find some products that I really like and work with my skin type. Although I have combination skin, the area around my nose and chin get really dry so it can be a bit of a task to find a day cream that balances and hydrates in the right places.
I went round quite a few shops until I found the 'Rituals 24H Hydrating Gel Cream' for normal/combination skin, but ended up stumbling across in by accident in Debenhams. I knew that I wanted a gel cream as I find that it works best with combination skin, but I didn't want something that wouldn't give me much hydration which is often the case with gel based formulas.
(You'll have to excuse my cat in the first picture by the way, apparently he couldn't find anywhere else to sit other than where I take my photos, and I didn't have the heart to move him!)

This cream contains Natural Antioxidants from White Tea to help 'protect the skin from external influences', and an Active Hydrating Complex with Hyaluronic Acid and Blue Ginger extracts that 'help restore the skin's moisture balance, for intensely hydrated, supple skin'.
The smell is really lovely and fresh, which is something I look for in a day cream as it helps to wake me up a bit, and the formula is extremely cooling with a lovely consistency that isn't too heavy. It is a very hydrating and balancing cream overall, but because my nose area is so problematic, my skin does drink it up a bit there. I sort of expected that to happen though!

I'm pretty impressed with this cream so far and it's definitely found a firm place in my daily skincare routine for now. I really look forward to using it every day, and will carry on using it to see if I have any noticeable differences in the long term. I also really love the packaging which is a big bonus!
This 50ml pot retails at £24.50 and is available at most Debenhams and John Lewis stores, and quite a few places online.

Have you tried and Rituals products before?

  7. I got a sample of this cream and went straight back the next day to buy the tub. I have sensitive and combination skin and creams by other brands tend to use aloe vera, which ends up oily and shiny on my skin, but I have to say that this 24H Hydrating Gel Cream is amazing and keeps my skin balanced and shine free! Love it!

  8. Oh and another thing: I used their sun protection face cream (SPF30) for everyday wear (I use the gel cream as my night cream) and have to say it has a great consistency that does not clog my pores and it feels light. The smell is also quite pleasant and not at all overpowering.
