A Little Trip to Lush

Sunday, April 07, 2013

Good afternoon! A while ago now my family and I went up to Manchester for a weekend, and I ended up dragging my poor Mum round the Trafford Centre for a good few eight hours. One thing that I was very excited about was to go into Lush, which is a shop that I don't have anywhere near me. I'd heard so many good things about Lush products before and had never really had the chance to try them, so I picked up a couple of bits while I was in there.

The first thing I picked up was the Breath of Fresh Air Toner Water. A toner is something I've always including in my skin care routine, although I'm not really sure they do an awful lot for me. The only reason I really use them is to wake myself up a bit and make my skin feel extra 'done' after cleansing. That said, I don't really like to spend an awful lot on a toner, so I was very happy to pay just £3.95 for this little bottle!
This toner really reminds me of Summer and smells like a beach in a bottle! It's a really refreshing product and gives my skin a little bit of a boost when I use it. - I'll definitely be using it a lot in Summer if we get hot weather in the UK!

The next product I bought was the Popcorn Lip Scrub. I'd heard a lot about the Bubblegum Lip Scrub from other bloggers, so I was originally going to pick that one up. However when I was in the store I smelt it and it was a bit too sickly for my liking! This little 25g pot cost £5.25, which I think is a little overpriced considering I can find most of the ingredients in my house, but it smells amazing and does what it says on the tin. Or, little Lush tub.
This lip scrub is primarily made up of Caster sugar, Jojoba oil, Sea salt, Polenta, Coconut oil and Popping candy (Yes, popping candy), which you rub onto your lips to exfoliate them and remove any dry skin, and then lick it off. I personally prefer not to lick it off as salt and sugar aren't the nicest taste combination, but it definitely does the job and gives my lips a bit of pampering. - I'm not sure I'd repurchase though if I'm honest!

Overall I was really happy with my first official in-store Lush experience. The staff were really lovely & helpful, and I could have stayed in there all day for the smell alone! I'll definitely be going in again when I'm next in London or Manchester, and I'll probably end up ordering something online in the meantime.

  9. I don't normally buy products there but love the shop itself. I got the mint choc chip version of the lip scrub - the bubblegum was too sweet and I thought the same as you about the popcorn but mint is delicious!

  12. I bought the Bubblegum lip scrub and wasn't all that keen on it really, I disliked the scent of Snow Fairy and discovered that I'm really not a fan of bubblegum. It doesn't do as much as I'd hoped for on my lips so the quest for smooth lips continues!x
