April Favourites
Thursday, May 02, 2013
It's that time again! I really can't believe how fast this year has gone so far; It's flown by! My favourites post could have gone on forever this month as I've been trying and testing so many new (and some rediscovered) things. I've finally managed to narrow it down though, so without further ado...
Revlon Lip Butter in 'Juicy Papaya' - My local boots store has the tiniest selection of the lip butters from Revlon, and is often one of the last stores to stock new lines. So when I ventured a little further afield and found this new shade (for £2 off I might add!) in Superdrug, I got it straight away. I never really liked any of the glittery lip butters so this light coral shade is perfect for me. I've been wearing it non stop!
MUA Blusher in 'Shade 4' - If you've been reading my blog for a while you will have seen my raves on the MUA eye shadow palettes, so I was really keen to give their new blushers a go. At £1 each they are such a bargain and there are some very pretty shades available. Obviously they aren't the best quality out there, but they're most certainly not the worst. I'll definitely be adding more to my collection!
Barry M Hi-Shine Nail Paint in 'Blueberry' - When this line of nail polishes first came out I did not like them at all. I found them really streaky and not all that shiny! However, I sat down a couple of weeks ago when I had a bit more time, and after using a different base coat, I now love love love them. My favourite shade at the moment is Blueberry (pictured above), which is closely followed by Pomegranate.
Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream - I got this face scrub a few months ago now, and it's taken me about that amount of time to realise how much I like it. I actually keep this tube in my shower and use it 3 times a week in the evenings to give my face a bit of a pick-me-up. It's a very gentle scrub with extremely fine grains which makes it great for people with sensitive skin like myself, and leaves my face feeling very soft and refreshed after using it. - I recommend it!
REN Glycolactic Radiance Face Mask - ...OH WOW. That pretty much sums up how I feel about this face mask. REN actually sent me a few samples to try a couple of months ago, and this little tube of gold was one of them. I won't do a full review yet as I'm going to order the full size, but this is the best mask I have ever used. Ever.
The mask is (according to REN), is 'A potent bio active peel mask designed to renew the complexion, reduce the appearance of fine lines and dramatically improve skin tone', which it completely does. I honestly can't rave about it enough!!
Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Night Cream - You probably know how much I love Origins as a Brand by now, so it doesn't really come as a surprise that this night cream has been on my bedside table for the past few months. This cream is perfect for my dry/combination skin, and leaves it feeling great when I wake up in the morning. I also really love the Orange-y smell it has!
Tresemmé Thermal Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner - I used to be one of those people that would pick up which ever shampoo and conditioner were on offer and be done with it. Now however, it's going to take a lot of persuading to get me to try anything other than the Thermal Recovery range! My hair was so dry and damaged at the start of the year and had hardly any shine to it, but these products have done wonders to it. I've definitely noticed a massive difference since I started using them, and my hair is practically good as new again! Amen.
Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment - This is another product that I got sent a while back, and it has become a real staple in my hair care routine. I've always been a little bit wary about using oils on my hair (especially when it's dry) as I was worried that they would make it greasy, but I now use this oil treatment when my hair is wet after a shower, and again just before I curl or straighten it. It hasn't made my hair look or feel greasy at all, just very soft and shiny. - It also smells really good!
So that's all of my favourites for April - I had a lot to fit in considering I missed March! I'd love to hear what products you've been loving lately, so do let me know in the comments.
Also, I thought I'd let you know that I'm offering advertising spots in my sidebar for only £3 this month, so if you're interested, just send me an email at leanne.helmer@hotmail.co.uk with the subject header 'Monthly advertisers'.
I hope you're enjoying the sunshine, and have a lovely evening!
