Blogger Takeover: RICO&TINE

Tuesday, May 28, 2013

Hello everyone! While Leanne is away, I've sort of taken over her lovely little blog... So if you’re wondering who the hell I am, my name is Vicki and I write the blog RICO&TINE if you’d like to have a look. I've been blogging for some time, just as a hobby, but it started when I had to create one as part of my course back in my first year of uni. I fell in love with blogging from the get go, but didn't actually get seriously into it until about 5 months or so ago, and now I can’t go a day without thinking of ideas or writing away! When Leanne asked me to do a guest post, I wasn't too sure what to post about. Initially I thought about doing a little promotional post for my own blog, but I thought if you’d like to have a look, the link is there so you can make up your own mind on whether you like it or not. I hope you do!

So I thought I’d share an ‘ideal outfit’ for summer – if we ever get one that is! I have a slight love for Topshop, this entire outfit is made up of beautiful things I’m lusting over on their website. I love simple, silk camis, so I chose this black V-Neck Step Hem one as the base of my outfit, pairing it will some loud yet neutral African Jersey Tapered Trousers. The Jungle/Aztec print is just beautiful, and gives the look a boho vibe – my favourite kind of vibe, as far as vibes go...
I always have to have something over my arms - especially living in the UK, you can never be sure if the weather is going to suddenly turn and you’ll get swept up with the wind, or smacked in the face with a ton of rain, being left looking like you've been pushed through a waterfall at 30mph. So a cardi is a must. This Knitted Mix Stitch Shawl Cardi is just gorgeous. I love a chunky knit, and the colour ties in the trousers perfectly, don’t you agree?

The shoes are a staple of mine. Every outfit I imagine has a pair of killer heels to dress my tootsies. These Leandras tick all my boxes. Platform – check. Black – check. Leather – check. I much prefer a wedge or chunky heel to a stiletto, they leave me walking relatively normally (less Bambi like) and keep my feet comfortable for slightly longer. Win.
To finish off the look, I've added a gorgeous lippy in the colour Hazard, some statement oversized Lennon-esque Extreme Bug Sunnies and an amazing silver and turquoise Bead Arrow Ditsy Necklace. Accessories can be the perfect thing to add to a simple look and bring it from okay, to oh heeeeyyyyy!

So there you go, I hope you've enjoyed my little take over! Maybe I’ll see you over on my blog soon, do say hello!

  2. I like the outfit. I too like to think that every outfit I wear would look great with some beautiful heels, but realistically I wear flats, as heels are just not practical for university (or the beach, flip flops all the way)
