Calvin Klein Delicious Luxury Creme Lipstick

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Good afternoon! Sorry for not posting very frequently for the past week, I've been going though a period of bloggers block (lets pretend that's a thing) and haven't felt like I've had anything interesting enough to write about. The brain fog seems to have cleared now though, so onto my favourite lipstick at the moment...

'Henna' - available at Fragrance Direct for £1.99 here
I'm not really a lipstick person if I'm quite honest. I'm definitely not one of those girls that can pull off every colour under the rainbow (much to my disappointment), and end up looking very much like a man in drag if I wear anything too daring. That said, my lipstick collection is quite small in comparison to most, so I've been trying to add to it a bit lately by buying neutral shades and corals, which suit me much more than a bright red.
One of my most recent additions is this lovely matte pink shade in 'Henna' by Calvin Klein. I was scrolling through the Fragrance Direct clearance sale with one hand and a chocolate bar in the other when I saw the 'Delicious Luxury Creme' lipsticks selling for £1.99 each. Henna is one of the lighter shades from what I can see, so into my basket it went (along with about half of the things on the website).

Considering this lipstick was only a measly one pound and ninety nine pence, I wasn't really expecting miracles with the quality. When it arrived and I put it to the test however, I was pleasantly surprised!
The lipstick actually has a really lovely finish which doesn't dry my lips out at all, and the staying power is actually pretty great. The only negatives in my eyes are that 1. the product has that slightly waxy smell, and 2. the packaging is a little bit cheap looking. Not to worry though, the smell is nothing with a nice smelling lip balm underneath, and the packaging is just a prime example of 'you get what you pay for'.
If you're not really a lippy person like me and don't want to spend a fortune on a lipstick, I definitely recommend the Calvin Klein ones. There's lots of colours too, so you'll be spoiled for choice!
