REN: ROSA CENTIFOLIA CLEANSING BALM
Thursday, December 05, 2013
Having combination skin, when it comes to cleansers I definitely tend to stick to balm and cream based products as I find that they work best at keeping my skin from becoming dry. Using an oil based cleanser can be a bit of a scary prospect if you have oilier skin, but they're actually a lot more versatile and beneficial than they might seem!
The REN Rosa Centifolia No. 1 Purity Cleansing Balm* contains roman chamomile oil and pink violet leaf extract which help to calm redness and soothe the skin, while the lecithin helps to maintain moisture, all working together to gently break down dirt and make-up to leave your skin feeling and looking lovely. I tend to use this cleansing balm as part of my evening routine by taking a small amount and massaging it over my face and neck before easily wiping away my make-up with warm water and a muslin cloth. The rose oil has a lovely calming smell to it too, which makes it a treat to use before bed!
The product itself is very gentle on the skin and leaves it feeling moisturised rather than stripped of it's natural oils. I haven't needed to do a double cleanse on my eye make-up while using this balm either, which is great as I generally find it difficult to find products that don't irritate my eyes.
Overall I'm really enjoying using this cleanser (although it would be nice to have it in a pot rather than a tube, as it can become a bit fiddly!), and would definitely recommend it as a slightly cheaper alternative to the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm. REN always seem to deliver!

I've never used a balm cleanser I don't think... I typically stick to cream or sometimes gel. But this sounds really interesting - thanks for the review!

DeleteThis sound lovely, I would really like to smell it! I think you can get away with really good cleansers even oil based when you have oily skin, you just have to pick the right type.
